-If dancer refuses to participate or does not obey in class, they will be sent out to sit with their parents for 10 minutes after which time they may come back into class. If a student is sent out a second time, they will not be allowed back into class that day. No refunds of tuition will be given.
-Dancers are to treat instructors and fellow students with courtesy and respect.
-Dancers are to treat the studio space with courtesy and respect.
-No touching the mirrors
-No food or drink inside studio building (bottled water only)
-No gum (especially while dancing), candy, snack foods, etc.
-Do not hang on or swing on the barres inside the studios or in the dressing room
-Do not put shoes on the wall
-Do not stand on chairs or benches
-Repeated offenders will be asked to leave the studio for the day and the student, or associated student, will not be allowed to participate in class that day. No refunds of tuition will be given.
Dress Code
-Dancers MUST wear a cover up while going to and from the studio building.
-Do not wear your dance shoes outside of class
-No street shoes on the dance floor
-No excessive jewelry (ie dangly/big earrings, long necklaces)
-No piercing except ears (please take out or cover all others)
-No exposed midriff or cleavage
-Shorts with words on the backside or any other inappropriate clothing as determined
by the teacher are not permitted
-If a dancer fails to follow the dress code, they will not be allowed into class until they remedy the situation.
~Girls~
Ballet:
-Leotard (any color) and pink dance tights
-No bare legs
-No skirts unless 12+ years old
-Dance skirts or dance shorts are required for 12 years old and up
-Black tights are permitted for 12+ years old
-Hair in a neat bun (if too short for bun, then pulled away from face with headband)
-Pink, leather ballet shoes with full sole (spilt sole and/or canvas shoes by teacher approval only)
-No denim
Jazz:
-Leotard (any color) and tights (any color)
-No bare legs
-Dance/athletic shorts, capris, or pants are required
-Shirts that allows instructor to see posture are permitted
-Hair pulled away from face (ie bun, ponytail, headband)
-Black jazz shoes, lace-up or slip-on, with black sole
-No denim
Hip-Hop:
-Shorts or pants that allow movement (ie basketball shorts)
-No short shorts unless tights are wore underneath
-Shirts that are tight enough and long enough to keep midriff covered and allows
instructor to see body placement while still being comfortable enough to move freely
-Hair pulled away from face (ie bun, ponytail, headband)
-Dance sneakers or other athletic/aerobic shoes (black dance sneakers or other uniform shoes will be required for shows)
-No denim
Modern and Lyrical:
-Leotard (any color) and tights (any color)
-No bare legs
-Dance/athletic shorts, capris, or pants are required
-Shirts that allows instructor to see posture are permitted
-Hair pulled away from face (ie bun, ponytail, headband)
-Barefoot or socks
-No denim
Tap:
-Any comfortable/flexible & appropriate clothing
-No short shorts unless tights are wore underneath
-Hair pulled away from face (ie bun, ponytail, headband)
-For 5-8 years-old: black Mary Jane style tap shoes
-For 9 years-old and up: full-sole, lace up, black tap shoes in either Bloch or Capezio brand
~Boys~ All styles:
-Shorts or pants that allow movement (ie basketball shorts)
-Shirts that are tight enough and long enough to keep midriff covered and allows
instructor to see body placement while still being comfortable enough to move freely
-No denim (except for tap)
Boys Shoes:
Ballet: black, leather, ballet shoes with full, black sole (spilt sole and/or canvas shoes
by teacher approval only)
Tap: full-sole, lace up, black tap shoes in either Bloch or Capezio brand
